    LakePoint’s Krystal gone after two years: The Krystal at 185 LakePoint Parkway in Emerson is closed as sales did not meet expectations.     The Rome Christmas Parade has lost a special friend. Douglas Paul Rogers, who “helped” Santa each year amid 20,000 or more fans lining Broad Street in downtown Rome and also in Calhoun, has died. From the National Weather Service’s history post: In 2013, a destructive high-end EF-3 tornado moved across Bartow and Gordon counties in the late morning hours with the city of Adairsville taking a direct hit.
