About 30 member of Floyd County Police Department, Floyd E-911 and their families came together to help an older couple in need on Saturday. From Tuesday evening: Gas leak on Second Avenue had traffic backed up; parts of 200 block evacuated; all clear within an hour.

Tuesday’s rush hour was more intense than usual after a gas leak was reported on Second Avenue near Broad Street. In addition to traffic snarls, some parts of the 200 block of Broad Street were evacuated as a precaution. The leak was secured and the area returned to normal soon afterward.
