Pam Powers-Smith, who had served as the chamber’s interim leader since Jeanne Krueger announced her resignation in early November, is now her official replacement. A year ago at this time, Linda Hatcher had counted some 400 requests from Floyd County families alone for assistance for Christmas. As of Tuesday, hours before the midnight deadline, that Floyd County number alone was at 818.
