May 12-15:  The Vikings softball team moves to the NCAA D-III Regionals at a site to be determined.

May 14: Georgia High School Association Tennis Championships returning to Rome: The matches will be at the Tennis Center at Berry College. Girls play in the morning; boys after lunch. Tickets: $8. For more.

May 20-23: State Mutual Stadium to host high school state baseball championships.

Aug. 19: Barron Stadium to host three Corky Kell Classic high school football games: 2:30 p.m.  Mt. Pisgah vs. Fellowship Christian; 5:30 p.m. Cass vs. Kennesaw Mountain; and 8:30 p.m., Rome vs. Creekside.
