
Mr. Ercie Templeton, age 80, of Lindale, GA, passed away Saturday morning, April 30, 2022, at his residence.
Mr. Templeton was born in Carls Fork, KY on June 4, 1941, son of the late Cecil Templeton and the late Elenora Boyles Templeton. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, L. B. and Eugene Templeton. Prior to his retirement, he was employed with Bekaert for 27 years. Mr. Templeton was of the Christian faith. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved working around the house and gardening. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, the former Frances Thompson, to whom he was married on May 17, 1968; 3 children, Billy Croy (Seena), Brenda Croy, and Donna Croy Johnston, all of Rome; 3 sisters, Juanita Smith (Jerry), Linda Hill, and Shirley Coheley, all of Rome; 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, his canine companion, Bam Bam, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at 2pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel. The Rev. Scott Lambert will officiate. Following the service, Mr. Templeton will be cremated in accordance with his wishes and his remains interred at Rome Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Wednesday from 12 noon until the service hour.

Mr. Grady Ladale “Punkin” Pope, age 53, of Aragon, GA, passed away Friday morning, April 29, 2022, in a local hospital.
Mr. Pope was born in Rome, GA on July 24, 1968, son of the former Linda Lawson and the late Rev. Grady Lee Pope, who preceded him in death on March 12, 2007. He was a 1986 graduate of Pepperell High School in Lindale. Prior to his becoming disabled, he was a mechanic with the Rome-Floyd Fire Department for several years. Mr. Pope was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church. “Punkin” loved being with his family and enjoyed the mountains and traveling, especially cruises.
Survivors include his wife, the former Renae Lovvorn, to whom he was married on October 1, 2001; 4 children, Meranda “Muffy” Pope (Amanda), Rome, Shelly Kelley (David), Rome, Jessica Deaton (Kevin), Rome, and Johnathan Deaton, Cedartown; his mother, Linda “Dolly” Boatner (Kenneth), Silver Creek; 10 grandchildren, Timothy “Bubba” Stiles, Cindy “Sister” Stiles, Tyler “Boogie” Stiles, Brianna Kelley, Lacey Kelley, Emma Velasco, Kaiden Velasco, Colton Deaton, Jessie Deaton, and Mason Deaton; 2 brothers, Jeff Pope (Teresa), Rome, and Danny Boatner (Samantha), Silver Creek; a niece, Shanna Fabian (Tyler), Rome; a nephew, Shane Pope (Erin), Rossville.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at 11am at Gethsemane Baptist Church with the Rev. Vance Stiles and the Rev. Kenneth Boatner officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Monday from 5 until 7pm. At other hours, the family may be contacted at the residence of his mother.
Pallbearers are requested to assemble at Gethsemane Baptist Church on Tuesday at 10:30am and include: Bubba Stiles, Shane Pope, Tyler Fabian, Timmy Stiles, Leon Mabry, Johnathan Deaton, Danny Boatner, and Boogie Stiles.
