UGA CELEBRATING THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

LOCAL COLLEGES AND COVID

Berry College’s home men’s basketball game with Sewanee scheduled for this Sunday has been canceled because of COVID-19 positive test results among vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals and CDC quarantine policies. Per Southern Athletic Association policies, games unable to be played due to COVID-19 will be canceled and considered a no-contest. Teams are given the option to reschedule but the results will not count towards SAA standings. Berry is now scheduled to return to action this Friday at Birmingham-Southern. Tipoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. EST.

  • Berry’s home men’s basketball game with Centre was canceled Friday because of positive test results.
  • Berry women’s away game Jan. 7 at Hendrix was canceled.

Shorter University:

  • Saturday: Men’s game. Because of COVID-19 protocols, the Auburn University at Montgomery men’s basketball team announced the postponement of its Gulf South Conference game against Shorter on Saturday.
  • Saturday: Women’s game. The Shorter University women’s basketball game versus Auburn University at Montgomery, originally scheduled for Saturday has been postponed.
  • Wednesday: Both teams. University of West Georgia has announced that Wednesday’s women’s and men’s basketball game at Shorter has been postponed due to the University’s health and safety protocols.
  • Jan. 6: Women’s game. Lee announced that the women’s basketball game at Shorter has been canceled because of health protocols.
