Mr. Kaylon Blake Higgins, age 27, of Rome, GA, passed away Friday, January 7, 2022, at a local hospital.

Kaylon was born in Rome, GA on August 15, 1994, son of the former Brandy Clines and Christopher Michael Higgins.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Jarret Higgins.

Kaylon was a loving and compassionate young man who loved life, meeting new people and spending time with his family.  To know Kaylon was to know love, his pure heart shined through his mischievous smile.  He was truly one of a kind and will be missed by everyone who had the privilege of loving him.

His infectious personality was most evident in his eyes.  He was always up for a good joke.  He left you always wondering what he was truly thinking behind that smile.

He enjoyed attending Indian Pow Wow festivals and listening to the cultural music and flutes.  He spent hours playing video games and watching a wide variety of movies.  He enjoyed his collections of Dream Catchers, Star Wars, Pokémon and Power Rangers.  Kaylon also had a great love of animals.  He would have owned a zoo if he could.

He enjoyed life and took his challenges with great courage and strength.  He taught us so much about living.  While he will be greatly missed, we rejoice in knowing he is walking again!

He is survived by his parents, Brandy and Chris Higgins, Rome; by his brother, Evan Higgins, Rome; by his maternal grandmother, Janet Robertson, Lindale; by his paternal grandparents, Wanda and Ricky Rhinehart, Cave Spring; by his maternal great grandmother, Pauline Strickland, Lindale; by his paternal great grandmother, Betty Higgins, Florida.  He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A celebration of Kaylon’s life for family and friends will be planned at a later date.
