Buzz: Rome-Floyd Recycling Center sets Household Hazardous Waste/Electronics event for Saturday. Free legal services this Friday.

Rome-Floyd Recycling Center will host its first Household Hazardous Waste & Electronics Event of 2022 on Saturday, Jan. 15, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.  Appointments can be made starting on the first working day of the event month by signing up here, or by calling (706) 291-5266, Monday through Thursday.  No phone calls will be accepted the day of the event.

  • Household items include: Poisons, pesticides, paint, automotive fluids, fluorescent bulbs, cleaning products, pool chemicals.
  • Electronics include: Televisions, computers, monitors, speakers, printers, copiers, DVD Players, sound systems, cables, satellite receivers, fax machines.
  • Never accepted: Tires, wood, clothing, furniture, toilets, construction debris, carpet, toys, medical waste, trash

Georgia Legal Services Program “Ask A Lawyer Day” will be available in the Judicial Courthouse located at 3 Government Plaza, on the third floor on Friday, Jan. 14, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. to assist low-income clients in a range of civil matters, including TPOs, public benefits, housing, consumer issues, school suspensions and unemployment. This service is provided on the second Friday of each month by Superior Court Clerk Barbara H. Penson and Georgia Legal Services Program.  For more information call 706-291-5190.
