The Baby Place at AdventHealth Gordon welcomed its first baby of 2022 at 5 p.m. on Jan. 1. Emma Palemo Archila arrived weighing 6 pounds, 6 ounces and measuring 19.5 inches long.
Pictured above are mother, Tina Bernal Archila, holding little Emma, and father, Jonathan Palemo. The hospital presented a gift basket to the happy family to congratulate them on being AdventHealth Gordon’s New Year family.
Floyd Medical Center welcomed its first baby of 2022 at 4:22 a.m. Saturday. Jameson Buck Buchanan is the son of Katie and Jacob Buchanan of Gordon County. Jameson tipped the scales at 7 pounds, 7 pounces and was 19 inches long. The Buchanans also have a 2-year-old daughter Sadie. The family received gifts from hospital and area merchants.
Media release: Bryson Shane Jenkins, 7 lbs., 15 oz., and 20 1/4 inches long, was the first baby of the year born at Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center.
Proud parents Kaley Ely and Michael Jenkins welcomed their healthy baby boy at 9:42 a.m. on Jan. 1 at Piedmont Cartersville. Staci Kenner-Fuller, MD of Cartersville OB/GYN Associates delivered the newborn.
“The first baby of the new year provides the same magic of a new beginning just as each new year,” said Kelly Costner, director of perinatal services at Piedmont Cartersville. “Babies are a constant source of happiness, wonder and joy and I am fortunate to have been a part of witnessing families welcome their newborns into the world for over 30 years.”
The Piedmont Cartersville Mother/Baby services staff presented the family with a New Year Baby gift basket in honor of their special delivery.
“Our staff’s commitment to high quality, safe care through continuous training and education is impressive and I am proud to be a member of this team,” said Costner. “We are all thrilled to be a part of the Ely/Jenkins family’s special day and would like to congratulate and wish them a very Happy New Year!”
Piedmont Cartersville delivers about 1,000 babies annually.
