Mrs. Carolyn Baker Carver, age 92, of Lindale, passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at a local healthcare facility.
Mrs. Carver was born in Lindale, Georgia on November 7, 1929, daughter of the late William Clarence Baker and the late Vera Roberta West Baker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, W. E. “Beaver” Carver, by a great granddaughter, Josie Carver, and by a sister, Nita Sealock. Mrs. Carver was a graduate of Cave Spring High School. Prior to retirement from Greenwood, she worked for many years at the Lindale Mill. She was a faithful member of the Lindale United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post #136 Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Carver was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and was overjoyed when the recently won the World Series.
Survivors include a son, Steve Carver (Tammie), Silver Creek; two grandsons, Bradley Carver (Connie), Silver Creek, and Chad Carver (Michelle), Silver Creek; three great grandsons, Zander Carver, Sid Carver, and Cooper Carver; a brother, Robert W. “Bob” Baker, Rome; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021, at 3pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Bill Coady officiating. Interment will follow in Rome Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Friday from 1pm until 2:45pm.
Pallbearers are asked to assemble on Friday at 2:30pm and include: Karl Kilgo, Ricky Jones, Ted Carver, Phil Baldwin, Butch Baldwin, and Phil Baker.
Mr. Joel Aker, age 78, of Rome Georgia passed away on November 30, 2021.

Ladye Jane Cox Payne, age 82, of Rome, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2021. Jane was a lifelong Georgian, born on May 29, 1939, in Atlanta, and lived in Brunswick, Albany, Kennesaw, and Rome as a child. She was a proud graduate of Rome High School and Tift College.
As a passionate educator in the Rome City School system, Jane devoted her life’s work to children, having taught social studies, among other subjects, primarily at West End Elementary for over 35 years. She and her husband, Bobby, were active members of the Coosa Country Club, and Jane was very active in her church and in her community. She was a former Chairman of the Session at both Westminster Presbyterian and Covenant Presbyterian, a former Chairman of the Floyd County Board of Health, a past President of the Rome Federated Garden Clubs, a past Member of the Floyd-Rome Retired Educators Association, a past Member of the Junior Service League of Rome, and a former Jaycette.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 53 years, Bobby Gene Payne; parents Cicero Albert Cox and June Leonard Cox; and brothers John Albert Cox, Sr. and Charles Michael “Mickey” Cox.
She is survived by nephew, John Cox, Jr. (wife Shea) and great nephew Jack of Carrollton, Ga; nephew Jason Cox (wife Abby) and great nieces Sarah Frances and Sallie of Atlanta, Ga; and niece Muguet Cox Kebel (husband Matt) and great nieces Annabelle and Lily of Jersey City, NJ; along with several cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Greenwood Cemetery in Cedartown, Ga.
