Mrs. Martha Jean Hopper Davis, age 73, of Silver Creek, GA, passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at a local hospital.

Mrs. Davis was born in Greenville, KY on November 8, 1948, daughter of the late Urey Alvin Hopper and the late Henrietta Jones Hopper.  She attended school in Princeton, KY and shortly after graduating came to Rome to attend Berry College.  She was a Dana Scholar and graduated in 1971.  She was employed by Berry College for a few years and later was employed in the Floyd County Tax Office for 10 years until she and Wayne moved to Cincinnati, OH, where she was employed at Health Alliance, orchestrating computer change over to accept Y2K at the main Cincinnati Hospital.  Later she worked at the World Headquarters of Proctor & Gamble Corporation until her retirement in 2013.  Mrs. Davis loved having a good time traveling in their RV, and square dancing with the Western Promenaders, attending many conferences and national conventions.  She took up quilting and made many quilts to give to friends and the Cancer Center.  She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her stepson, Mark Davis, and by 2 sisters, Delores Hopper and Beverly Cummins.

Survivors include her husband of 29 years, Wayne Davis; a daughter, Yvonne “Michelle” Davis Shanahan; a stepson, Michael Wayne Davis; 2 sisters, Linda Webb and Dennis Lewis, both of Princeton, KY; her grandchildren, Logan Shanahan, Anwyn Shanahan and Brandon Davis; nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 28, 2021, at 2pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel.  The Rev. Dr. Stanley Smith will officiate. Interment will follow in Rome Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Sunday from 1pm until time for the services.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 1825 Barrett Lakes Blvd., Kennesaw, GA 30144 or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.

Mrs. Annie Sue Dunham Cabe, age 90, of Lindale, GA, passed away Tuesday morning, November 23, 2021, at her residence.

Mrs. Cabe was born in Madison County, AL on May 10, 1931, daughter of the late Clarence and Evelyn Kircus Dunham.  She was also preceded in death by husband, Emmett Cabe, by a son, Richard Cabe, and by three sisters, Betty Ealy, Sara Gastler, and Linda Dunham.  Mrs. Cabe was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Ann Wright (Ray), Lindale; her son, Michael Cabe (Lori), Silver Creek; her granddaughter, Haley Harrigan (Patrick), Athens; her great granddaughter, Sterling Harrigan, Athens; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 29, 2021, at 3pm at the graveside in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.  The Rev. Jerry Brooks will officiate.

Tesla Cheyenne Bright-Stewart, age 30, of Rome passed away Friday November 19, 2021.
Tesla was born on January 25, 1991 in Rome GA., to Joseph Bright and Angie Ferguson Underwood.
Survivors include her husband: Eric Stewart; children: Rowan Coker, Michael Bolinger, and Danavee Bright; father: Joe (Chelsea) Bright; mother: Angie Ferguson Underwood; siblings: Isiah Bright, Richey Underwood, Tyler Bright, Mathias Brown, Tayler Hand, and Jaylin Ferguson; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM on Tuesday November 30, 2021 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until service hour on Tuesday at Good Shepherd Funeral Home.
