Mr. Jesse Oliver Jenkins, age 78, of Rome, passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at a local hospital.

Mr. Jenkins was born in Rome, Georgia on November 23, 1942, son of the late B. T. Jenkins and the late Dorothy Marie Payne Jenkins.  He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte Ann Jenkins.  Mr. Jenkins was a member of Bush Arbor Baptist Church.  Prior to retirement, he worked at Inland Container for 38 years.  He was a former mason and Shriner.

Survivors include his wife, Gail Warren Jenkins; three sons, Michael Jenkins (Cathy), Rome, Jeff Jenkins (Frances), Cartersville, and Scott Jenkins (Dawn), Armuchee; two stepsons, Jackson Davis, Rome, and Richard Davis (Susan), Olympia, WA; three sisters, Sandra Prewitt, Elaine Couey, and Melissa Linfante; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at 2pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Don Jenkins and the Rev. Jackson Davis officiating.  Interment will follow in Bush Arbor Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Saturday from 5 until 7pm.

Pallbearers are asked to assemble on Sunday at 1:30pm and include: Chris Jenkins, Jonathan Jenkins, Scottie Newton, Stevie Dobbs, Regan Young, and Harley Perry.


Ms. Emma Neal, age 69, of Rome, passed away on November 15th, 2021 at her residence.

Homegoing service will be Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 1:00 p.m Greater Christ Temple Rapture Preparation Church 1321 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Rome, Georgia.

There will be a viewing Friday, November 19, 2021, Wright Memorial Chapel from 12 noon until 7:00 p.m, family hour from 6-7 p.m.

Mr. Roosevelt Riley Sr., age 82, of Rome, Georgia, passed away on November 18, 2021, at a local hospital following an extended illness.

Graveside service will be Monday, November 22, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. East View Cemetery 725 Kingston Ave NE, Rome, Georgia.

Gary Wayne Acrey Sr., age 72, of Rome passed away Tuesday November 9, 2021.

Gary was born on October 31, 1949 in Floyd County GA., to the late William Acrey and Hazel Smith. He was preceded in death by his daughter: Brandy Easterwood.

Survivors include his children: Gary Acrey, Sr., Nicole Pilcher, and Kristy Acrey; several grandchildren; siblings: Jerry Acrey, Cary Acrey, Debra Acrey, and Barbara Acrey.

Memorial services will held at 1:00 PM on Monday November 22, 2021 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until service hour on Monday at Good Shepherd Funeral Home.


Bobby Wayne Womack, age 53, of Silver Creek passed away Monday November 15, 2021.

Bobby was born on July 19, 1968 in Floyd County GA., to the late Harold Wayne Womack and Betty Gail Busby. He was preceded in death by siblings: Rhonda Womack, and Liz Busby.

Survivors include his children: Dustin Womack, Latisha (Pete) Lindsey, Krista (Brandon) Lovering; grandchildren: Dristin Smith, Makensie Craig, Myleigh Lindsey, Aubree Lovering, Ava Lovering, Brexton Lovering, Brayden Lovering; siblings: Melissa Prater, Jimmy Womack, Becky Smyth, Donna White, Wendy Barger, Wayne Womack, April Womack, Joyce Butler, Allen Busby, and Cindy Amos.

Memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday November 22, 2021 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mission is Possible! Foundation in honor of Bobby’s Granddaughters, Aubree and Ava Lovering.


Mrs. Paula Worthington Proctor, age 74, of Silver Creek, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at a local hospital.

Mrs. Proctor was born in Floyd County, Georgia on March 16, 1947, daughter of the late Clarence Elijah Worthington and the late Edith Mears Worthington.  She was also preceded in death by a sister, Emma Jane Sisson.  Mrs. Proctor was a homemaker and was an active member of Pleasant Hope Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Edward Lee Proctor, Jr.; two children, Edward Lee “Trey” Proctor, III (Debra), Lindale, and Melody Diane Smith, Silver Creek; four grandchildren, Lindsay Jones (Skylar), Christian Smith, Trevor Proctor, and Kaitlin Smith; a great granddaughter, Adalynn Smith; a brothers, Charles Worthington; a sister, Sharon Collier, Cedartown; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 12 noon at Pleasant Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Adam Elrod and the Rev. Joel Walker.  Interment will follow in Pleasant Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Friday from 5 until 7pm.

Pallbearers are asked to assemble at the church on Saturday at 11:30am and include: Christian Smith, Trevor Proctor, Skylar Jones, Glavin Collier, Bryson Cheatwood, and Brandon Cheatwood.


Jane Marilyn Wood, age 66, of Cumming, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021. Jane was born December 23, 1954. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Cave Spring Cemetery, Cave Spring, GA. Daniel’s Funeral Home.
