Mr. Claiborne Rayford LeRoy, age 89, of Silver Creek, GA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 13, 2021, in a local hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. LeRoy was born in Bridgeport, AL on March 22, 1932, son of the late Charles Quinn LeRoy and the late Margie Hornbeak LeRoy. He was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Jane LeRoy and Charlene Thompson, and by a brother, Wes LeRoy. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement, he was employed with Inland-Rome for over 36 years. Mr. LeRoy was a member of the American Legion Post #136 in Lindale and Silver Creek United Methodist Church. Mr. LeRoy was probably best known as “Mater Man”, because of his garden on the Old Rockmart Road, where his “maters” will grow on.
Survivors include his wife, the former Virginia Irene Byars, to whom he was married on May 17, 1957; 3 sons, Ray LeRoy (Judy), Silver Creek, Kenneth LeRoy (Melodie), Rome, and Joey LeRoy (Marion), Silver Creek; 9 grandchildren, Nicole Huckaby (Noah), Nikki LeRoy, Dustin LeRoy (Anna), Michelle Everett, Anna Beth Rea (Justin), Brandon LeRoy, Chera LeRoy, Joe LeRoy, and Autumn LeRoy; a sister, Jean Sanders, Red Bank, TN; 8 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In accordance with his wishes, Mr. LeRoy will be cremated, and all services will be private. Memorial donations may be made to Silver Creek United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 98, Silver Creek, GA 30173-0098.

Mr. Willard Larry Knowles Sr., age 84, of Lindale, GA, passed away Friday, November 12, 2021, at the residence of his son in Adairsville, GA.
Mr. Knowles was born in Rome, GA on February 19, 1937, son of the late Jess Willard Knowles and the late Odessa Lewis Tatum. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Horsley Knowles, and by a brother, Odell Knowles. He was a 1957 graduate of Pepperell High School in Lindale. Prior to his retirement, he was employed with Greenwood Mills in Lindale following over 50 years at the Lindale Mill. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Mr. Knowles was active in the athletic booster clubs from the youth league through high school. He served as Treasurer of the Pepperell Dragon Club for many years and in various leadership positions. He filmed the Pepperell High School football games for over 30 years. Mr. Knowles was a member of Silver Creek United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his son, W. L. “Buster” Knowles, Jr. (Charlene), Adairsville; 3 grandsons, Jacob Knowles, Sandy Springs, Hayden Knowles, Rome, and Kirk McStotts, Kingston; a brother, Jay Knowles (Jerri), Silver Creek; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at 2pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with his Pastor, the Rev. Michael Holt, and the Rev. Phil Wade officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Thursday from 12 noon until the service hour.
