Ms. Brenda Kaye Matthews, age 56, of Rome, GA, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021, at her residence.
Ms. Matthews was born in Marietta, GA, on August 13, 1965, daughter of the late Robert Franklin Lester and the late Martha Lester Davis. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Berry Lester. Ms. Matthews was a 1983 graduate of Pepperell High School. She was a homemaker who loved cooking, flowers, and her grandchildren more than anything. She was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include her 2 children, Cole Spears, Rome, and Makayla Matthews, Jacksonville, AL; 3 siblings, Linda Patty (Kenny), Lindale, Bob Lester (Julie), Dallas, and Glenn Lester (Billie Jo), Dallas; 2 grandchildren, Avaleen Spears and John Luke Spears; her best friend, Jeff Lyon; nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11am on Friday, October 22, 2021, in East View Cemetery. The Rev. Don Spears and Minister Russell Lester will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 5pm until 7pm on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel.
Theresa Lane Vann, 38, died Sunday, October 17, 2021.
Visitation is Thursday, Oct. 21, from noon until 1:45 p.m. with the funeral service at 2 p.m. at Henderson and Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel.

Mr. Bobby Ray Graham, age 74, of Rome, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021, at a local hospital.
Mr. Graham was born in Rome, Georgia on January 11, 1947, son of the late Elbert Lee Graham and the late Lorene Estelle Hall Graham. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Paul Graham. Mr. Graham was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force serving from 1966-1970 during the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Prior to retirement, Mr. Graham worked for Lockheed Martin.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Gribble Graham, Rome; a son, Jason Graham (Kim), Shanghai, China; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Graham.
A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 21. 2021, at 10:30am in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Father Rafael Carballo officiating. Private inurnment will follow at a later date at Georgia National Cemetery.

Jason Keith Pendley, age 40, of Kingston, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021, at Redmond Regional in Rome.
Jason was born in Rome, Georgia on January 2, 1981. Son of Dennis Pendley and the late Wendy Brannon. He was also preceded in death by his uncle, Tracy Brannon. Jason worked as a shop manager with Trimac Transportation.
Jason was a caring and loving father, husband, friend, brother, and son. He wanted the best for everyone he cared about. Jason was always there for his brother, Wayne. They always had each other’s backs. It’s a special relationship to have with a sibling. Jason has two girls. Two girls he loved tremendously. Two girls that were brought into this world by his wife. They’ve been together since high school, simply soulmates.
Jason’s legacy includes his wife, Rebecca Lynne Jones Pendley; two daughters, Julia Foster Pendley and Emily Nicole Pendley; his father, Dennis Pendley (Kim Wilson); two brothers, Wayne Pendley (Hillary Pendley) and Donnie Thacker (Felicia Thacker); grandparents, Glenn Brannon and Jean Brannon; nephews, Matthew Pendley, Blaze Voyles, and Jesse Jones; nieces, Ayanna Jones and Madison Davis; uncles; Greg Brannon; several cousins.
In accordance with his wishes, Jason will be cremated.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Wednesday. October 20, 2021, from 5 until 7 p.m.

Gail Marie Highfield, age 59, of Rome, GA, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 17, 2021, surrounded by her family.
A native of Rome and Floyd County, Gail was born November 1, 1961, daughter of the late Doyle Wade and Betty Mae Hovers Wade. She was a homemaker who loved being with her family. Gail enjoyed reading, playing word search games, and watching soap operas. She also was an avid Bingo player. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her love, Donald “Duck” Roberson, a grandson, Dakota Hibberts, a brother, James Wade, and a sister, Teresa Wade.
Gail is survived by her daughters and their families, Jessica and Bobby Akins and their children, Myles and Natalie, and Tiffany and Bryan Bendek and their children, Landon, Ayden, and Hanah (Simeon) Greenberg; a son and his family, Gary and Blakeley Hovers and their children Christopher and Camden; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sammy and Jan Wade, and Michael and Cheri Wade; a half-sister, Debbie Reynolds. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services for Gail will be Wednesday afternoon, October 20, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in the Alvis Miller Memorial Chapel of Salmon Funeral Home with Pastor Jarrod Roberts and Bryan Bendek officiating. Interment will follow in Rome Memorial Park.
Gail’s family will receive friends at Salmon Funeral Home on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the service hour.
The family request those who would like to honor Gail’s memory to please wear her favorite color, purple.
Pallbearers will include Brandon Alexander, Bobby Akins, Ben Cantrell, Chris Wade, Shea Hovers and Steve Burnette.
