Permits issue for Dollar General on Martha Berry in Armuchee: Building permits worth $500,000 have been issued for a Dollar General at 6173 Martha Berry Highway, near the intersections of Haywood Valley Road and New Rosedale Road. The project has been mentioned in several recent reports; this is the next step it in getting it built.
Just down the highway, at 4075 Martha Berry Highway, DR Investments also got a permit for the new Dairy Queen just below Armuchee High School.
The Cartersville-Bartow Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the third Grow in Bartow Job & Career Fair on Wednesday, Oct. 20, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at
the Cartersville Civic Center, 435 W. Main St.
“Our goal for the job fair is to facilitate a direct connection for employers and job seekers,” saysC hamber Workforce Development Director Matthew Thomas. “Given what we’ve seen from the previous two job fairs, anyone who is willing to work is likely to leave the event with a job opportunity in hand.”
Staff members from Georgia Highlands College also will be on site providing break-out sessions on Resume Writing and Interviewing Skills and representatives from the Bartow County Library System will share information about resources and programs they offer to the community.
The event is open to all job seekers and will feature a variety of businesses.
The Chamber also encourages those in attendance to bring a copy of their resume although it is not required.
