A Roswell woman has died from injuries sustained when her Prius was hit by a tractor-trailer on Ga. 140 and Old Dalton Road on Sept. 8.

Jahna Kerr, 62, had been rushed to Erlanger in Chattanooga via an airlift. She died just before 9 p.m. Sept. 24 from the blunt force injuries sustained in the collision, Floyd County Coroner Gene Proctor says.

She is the 21st person to die on Rome/Floyd County roads this year.

According to Sgt. Chris Fincher of the Floyd County Police Department:

  • At 12:12 p.m., Jahna Kerr, 62, of Roswell was driving the Prius north on Old Dalton Road and apparently had stopped in the intersection of Ga. 140.
  • Raiford Redd, 61, of Cartersville was driving a Volvo¬† tractor-trailer westbound on Ga. 140, say the vehicle and tried to avoid a collision.
  • The truck still hit the passenger side of the vehicle before going off the side of the road.
  • Redd escaped injury.
  • The accident investigation is continuing.
