Ms. Elizabeth Lovey Patricia Morris, age 26, of Kissimmee, FL, formerly of Silver Creek, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at her residence.

Elizabeth was born in Rome, GA on December 14, 1994, daughter of the former Maryrose “Missy” Rymanowski and James David “Jim” Morris.  A homeschool graduate in 2012, she was employed with the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, FL in guest services.  She had an adventurous spirit and lived a fearless life.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lindale.

Survivors include her parents, Missy and Jim Morris, Silver Creek; her beloved brother and best friend, Adam Morris, Memphis, TN; her maternal grandmother, Kay Rymanowski, Berne, NY; her paternal grandmother, Betty Zane Morris, Rome; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many beloved friends.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at 3pm at First Baptist Church of Lindale.  The Rev. Eric Whelchel and the Rev. Jim Cook will officiate.

The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church of Lindale on Saturday from 1pm until the service hour.  The family requests “best practices” concerning the coronavirus during the visitation and service.

Barbara B. Cescutti, a lifelong resident of Rome, GA, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2021 peacefully at her home.

Barbara was born on August 19, 1933. She was a beloved wife, mother, Grand Mother, Great Grandmother, Great-Great Grandmother, Aunt, and friend to so many people in her life. She graduated from Rome High School in 1951. She was an active member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church for 70 years. She was employed with Belk, K-Mart, and was a home maker. To know Barbara was one of life’s many blessings. She made an impression on everyone she came in contact with. We will miss her but have no doubt she is flying high with Jesus.

Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, Glady Carter Burkett; Father, Marshall Steven Burkett; and her loving husband, Robert D. Cescutti. She was an only child and leaves behind 3 sons, Robert A. (Tony) Cescutti and his wife Susan, of Rome, Brad Cescutti and his wife Lisa, of Cedar Bluff, Alabama, and David H. Cescutti formally of Rome, GA. She had 7 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild who she loved and adored very much.

A graveside service will be conducted Friday, September 24, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Oaknoll Cemetery. All family and friends are invited.

Mrs. Judith Anna Perry Wright, age 77, of Rome, GA, passed away Monday, September 20, 2021, at her residence.

Mrs. Wright was born in Rome, GA on March 25, 1944, daughter of the late Henry Harold Perry and the late Lena Estelle Silvers Perry.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Evan Rudolph Wright, and by a brother, Foster Perry.  A Licensed Practical Nurse, Mrs. Wright retired from Northwest Georgia Regional Hospital following 34 years of employment.  She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Lena Diane Wright, Kingston, and Mary Alice Murphy (Ray), Dallas, GA; a son, Richard Evan Wright (Dawn), Subligna, GA; 3 brothers, Haskell Perry, Rome, Gordon Perry, Greensboro, NC, and Wilburn Perry, Rome; 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, as well as her feline companion, Wally.

In accordance with her wishes, Mrs. Wright will be cremated.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Sunday, September 26, 2021, from 2 until 4pm.

Mr. William Ruben Sargent, age 78 of Cedartown, GA, passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021, at his residence.

Mr. Sargent was born in Atlanta, GA on May 29, 1943, son of the late William Cannon Sargent and the late Margaret Bell Slaughter Sargent.  He was a graduate of Silvan High School and was a sprinkler fitter with Local #669, prior to his retirement.  He was of the Baptist faith.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, David Bradley Sargent, and by 2 brothers, Ronnie Sargent and David Sargent.

Survivors include his wife, Edith Wheeler Sargent; a son, Jason Wade Sargent (Cari), Gainesville, GA; a daughter, Jennifer Nicole Cunningham (Steve), Athens, GA; 2 brothers Michael Sargent (Joan), Lilburn, GA and Bobby Sargent, McDonough, GA; a sister, Lynda Greaves (Fred), Griffin, GA; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, between the hours of 6 and 8pm.  At other hours, they may be contacted at their residences.


Terry Alan Hall, 69, of Taylorsville, Georgia passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021.

He was born in Forrest City, Arkansas, on September 10, 1952, son of the late Vernon C. Hall and the late Latane Hall. Terry is survived by his wife, Joyce Hall and two sons, Stephen Hall (Melissa) and Scott Hall (Lisa), one brother Phil Hall, three grandchildren, Katie Hall, Layton Hall and Arai Robinson and several nieces and nephews.

Terry graduated from Central High School in 1970 in Little Rock, Arkansas and Capital City Business College in Little Rock, Arkansas with a drafting design degree. He worked in the Petroleum Environmental Industry most of his career and retired from Engineer Design Technology in 2016.

Terry was a devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather. He was a spiritual man and would confess his faith by expressing the last few months that he knew by the grace of God and his lifelong beliefs he would be reunited with his family that were already in heaven. He was an avid sportsman, fisherman and hunter all his life and he played baseball for over 27 years. He was extraordinary cook and enjoyed cooking for his family and friends and sharing recipes.

Visitation will be on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at 1:00 pm and Funeral Services at 2:00 pm at Daniel’s Funeral Home. Larry Davison will officiate the service and the Eulogy will be given by Gary Raymer.

Deborah (Debbie) Withrow Oliver, age 59, passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 15, 2021, in Rome, Ga.

Debbie was born in Rome on June 18, 1962, to the late Eugene F. Withrow and Sandra Withrow Smith. Debbie was preceded in death by her grandparents, S.A. Austin and Jen Lou Stitcher Austin and uncle, Lamar Oliver (Poker) and father-in-law Walter B. Oliver III. Debbie and her husband, Walter B. Oliver IV, married on June 22, 1985, in Tifton, Ga.

Debbie was raised in Tifton, GA, and graduated from Tift County High School in 1980. She received her Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Georgia in 1984 followed by her Master’s degree from Valdosta State University and Six Year Education degree from Lincoln Memorial University. Debbie was a devoted teacher and during her 30 year career in the education field, Debbie taught at Annie Belle Clark Elementary School, Fairmount Elementary School, W. L. Swain Elementary School and Model Elementary School. Debbie retired from teaching in 2015 and worked part time at Riverwood Senior Living for approximately two years.

Debbie was a member of Dykes Creek Baptist Church in Rome. She loved teaching children, interacting with people, travel and sports. Debbie idolized her entire extended family especially her husband, Walt, and son, Cole. She particularly relished watching Cole play baseball and basketball at Model High School as well as baseball at the collegiate level. She was an honorable member of Alpha Delta Kappa, an international organization for women educators dedicated to educational excellence. Debbie was a special person, loved by all and always had a kind word and warm heart for all those she encountered.

Debbie is survived by her husband Walter B. Oliver III of Rome, and son Cole of Fayetteville, NC; her twin sister, Jennie Withrow Highland and (Emmett) of Peachtree City, GA, niece, Madison Highland and nephew Conor Highland, aunt, Vanita Holden of Rome, and cousin, Tracey Helton and (Wayne) of Rome, nephew, Brent Helton (Whitney) of Yorkville, GA, sister in law Tammy England (Andy) and mother-in-law Evelyn Palmer of Quitman, GA, and nephew Austin England (Raquel) of Thomasville, GA.

The pallbearers are David Fisher, Chad White, Tony Bethune, Wes White, Conor Highland and Emmett Highland.

A memorial fund in Debbie’s honor has been established for staff and students at Model Elementary School. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Heather Wheat at River City Bank, 228 N. Second Ave. SW., Rome, GA, 30165.

A gathering of friends for Debbie will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Salmon Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

A private family service will be held following the gathering.
