Ms. Karen Ruth Morgan, age 55, of Rome, GA, passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at a local hospital.
Ms. Morgan was born on September 20, 1965, in Floyd County, GA daughter of Mrs. Betty Joan Lewis Morgan and the late Robert Morgan. She was a graduate of West Rome High School and went on to receive her master’s degree in Human Behavior Psychology. Before her retirement due to health, Ms. Morgan worked at various banks as well as for the State of Georgia for over 8 years. She loved spending time with her daughter, when her health allowed, and was fond of the mountains and the beach whenever they could get away. Ms. Morgan was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include her daughter, Caitlyn Morgan, Rome, and her mother, Joan Morgan, Rome.
In accordance with her wishes, Ms. Morgan will be cremated, and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Larry Wayne Touchstone, age 73, of Armuchee, GA, passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021.
Larry was born in Rome, GA on June 8, 1948, son of the late Weldon Touchstone and the late Ossie Nell Cloud Touchstone. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Rita Coleman. He graduated from Armuchee High School in 1966 and from Massey Tech, Jacksonville, FL, in 1968. He enlisted in the Army in 1968, serving in Vietnam 1969-70. He was combat wounded on 11-11-1969. He later served in the National Guard. Larry worked as an electronics specialist in auto repair until his etirement.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Canada Touchstone; son, Benjamin Touchstone; grandchildren, Steven & Rachel Coleman; brother, Roger Touchstone; sister, Lila Touchstone; sister-in-law, Juanita Harris; brother-in-law, Tommie Canada; uncle, Howard Touchstone; aunt, Mary Cloud; nieces, nephews, cousins, and his Army brothers also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021, at 11am at Mr. Tabor United Methodist Church with Pastor Dale McConkey and Pastor Wayne Hopper officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery with the American Legion Post #5 Honor Guard presenting full military honors.
Larry will lie in state at Mt. Tabor UMC, on Friday from 9am until the service hour with social distancing guidelines being followed.

Mr. Charles William Bailey Sr., age, 86 of Cave Spring, died Sunday morning, September 5, 2021, at his residence following a brief illness.
Mr. Bailey was born in Tate, Georgia January 28, 1935, a son of the late Roy Bailey and the late Grace Harrison Bailey. Having made his home in Cave Spring since 2003, Mr. Bailey was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, having served his country during the Korean War, was a retired crane operator with the Operating Engineers Local #926 in Atlanta, and was a member of the Lakeview Baptist Church.
Besides his parents, Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by two sons, Charles William (Ricky) Bailey, Jr. and Randall Bailey; by an infant sister, Carol Bailey and by two brothers, Bobby Bailey and Harold Bailey.
Mr. Bailey is survived by his wife, the former Sue Willis, to whom he was married November 24, 1989; by a daughter, Ms. Angie Bailey of Aragon, and by two sons, Homer Jeffery Bailey of Ball Ground and Anthony Bailey of Cave Spring. His step-children, Jason (Bridget) West of Cave Spring, and Mrs. Janna (Greg) Webb of Cave Spring, 16 great-grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Bailey’s family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon from 2 P.M. until 4 P.M. Graveside services will be held following that at the Round Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Jeyden Bailey Eaton, Matt Bailey, Trevor Bailey, Will Cox, Weston Cox, and Austin Webb. The Honor Guard of the Shanklin-Attaway Post 5 of the American Legion will provide military honors.
