Mrs. Doris Dean “Dennie” Lemming, age 74, of Kingston, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at a Calhoun healthcare facility.

Mrs. Lemming was born in Floyd County, Georgia on September 26, 1946, daughter of the late Otha Elijah Porter and the late Clara Bell Whitlock Porter.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Gurney “Billy” Lemming, and by a daughter, Brenda Brown.  Mrs. Lemming was of the Holiness faith.  Prior to retirement, she worked as a personal caregiver.

Survivors include a son, Michael Lemming (Tammy), Calhoun; four granddaughters, Kimberly Whitlock, Amanda Brown, Kayla Sanford, and Kiera Lemming; eleven great grandchildren; a sister, Deborah Hulsey, Cave Spring; a brother, David Porter (Wilma), Cedar Bluff, AL; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at 2pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Jerry Brooks officiating.  Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Wednesday from 5 until 7pm.

Pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Thursday at 1:30pm and include: Actie: Jimmy Whitlock, Jonathan Sanford, Jonathan Griffin, James Trammell, Kenny Brooks, and Aiden Whitlock.  Honorary: Brayden Whitlock, Copelin Sanford, and Cayson Sanford.

Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, has charge of the arrangements.


 

Mrs. Melissa (Lisa) Foster-King, age 54, of 2281 Old Cedartown Rd., Lindale, passed away Sept. 3, 2021.

Homegoing service is incomplete, but will be announced later by Wright Memorial Mortuary, Inc.


Mrs. Faye Elizabeth Kilgore Smith, age 82, of Rome, GA, passed away Saturday morning, September 4, 2021, at her residence.

Mrs. Smith was born in Floyd County, GA on November 25, 1938, daughter of the late Jim and Annie Wilson Kilgore.  She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Gregory Merroll Smith, by 2 sisters, Ruth Battle and Dorothy Wheeler, and by a brother, John Kilgore.  An L. P. N., Mrs. Smith was employed as the Clinic Nurse at the Lindale mill for many years prior to her retirement.  She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her husband, Merroll J. Smith, to whom she was married on November 15, 1954; 3 sons, James Michael Smith (Susan), La Belle, FL, David Raymond Smith (Mandy Brownlow), Rome, and Jeffrey Scott Smith (Mary), Rome; her sister, Lois Bell, Woodstock; her brother, Steve Kilgore, Rome; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In accordance with her wishes, Mrs. Smith will be cremated, and no formal services will be held.

Mr. Terrence Driver, age 51, of Rome, Ga., passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021.

Mrs. Patricia Ann “Pat” Williams Smith, age 71, of Silver Creek, GA, passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 4, 2021.

Mrs. Smith was born on March 10, 1950, in Floyd County, GA, daughter of the late Henry Williams and the late Dorothy Carver Williams Holmes.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Jack “Ted” Smith, Jr., by a daughter, Helen Cerritos, by her stepfather, Jack Holmes, and by 3 siblings, Juanita Gentry, Michael Williams and Leroy Williams.  Mrs. Smith retired from the Floyd County School System after 22 years of driving a school bus.  She loved karaoke, sewing, cooking, working in her yard, and any and all things flowers.  Mrs. Smith was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include 2 children, Tammy Green (Brian), Rockmart, and Todd Smith (Venetia), Rome; son-in-law, Alfredo Cerritos; 8 grandchildren, Nicole Cerritos, Christopher Cerritos (Angelia), Mateo Cerritos, Timothy Tucker (Crystal), Emily Ball, Johnathan Tucker, Mari Smith and Justin Smith; 12 great-grandchildren, Brandon Ball, Braxton Ball, Cole Beard, Kenzlee Tucker, Crew Tucker, Abigail Tucker, Titus Tucker, Silas Tucker, Kenzington Hicks, Lawson Cerritos, Cara Adams and Eliste Adams; 3 brothers, Bob Williams, Ricky Williams, and Billy Williams; her companion, Dale Payton; honorary granddaughter, Megan Godfrey; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Friday, September 10, 2021, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. John Redding officiating.  Interment will follow in Pleasant Hope Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5pm until 8pm on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel.

Pallbearers are to assemble by 11:30am on Friday at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, and include:  Timothy Tucker, Johnathan Tucker, Justin Smith, Christopher Cerritos, Mateo Cerritos and Adrian Ball.
