Miss Jennifer Nicole Cason, age 35, of Silver Creek, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at a local hospital.

Miss Cason was born in Rome, Georgia on January 8, 1986, daughter of Travis Allen Cason and Kathy Diane Deaton Cason.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Adam Cason.  Miss Cason worked as a Customer Account Specialist for PPC Flexible Packaging.  She was a loving mother and loved spending time with her daughter.

Survivors include her daughter, Emma Grace Cason; her parents, Travis & Kathy Cason, Silver Creek; two brothers, Dwayne Allen Cason, Silver Creek, and Isaac Paul Cason, Rome; two nephews, Abram Cason and Knox Cason; a niece, Liv Cason; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends.

Due to family health concerns, there will be no visitation.

A private graveside service for immediate family only will be at Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery.

Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, has charge of the arrangements.


Eleanor Kate Nickerson, beloved daughter of Bradley and Hanna Nickerson, was born sleeping on August 31, 2021, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.  A short time in our arms, forever in our hearts.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.  I do not give to you as the world gives.  Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”  John 14:27

She was preceded in death by her maternal great grandparents, Troy and Clara Mae King of Blairsville, GA, Rev. Dickens and Idell Hunt of Mableton, GA, and her paternal great grandparents, Homer and Patricia Running of Flint, MI.  Also, a great aunt, Tina Nickerson of Gainesville, GA.

She is survived by her parents, Bradley and Hanna Nickerson of Lula, GA; maternal grandparents, Robbin and Dale Lee of Rockmart, GA; paternal grandparents, Chris and Sunnie Nickerson of Lula, GA, and Tiffany West of Rome, GA; maternal great grandparents, Joe and Jackie Hunt and Billy and Lois Lee, all of Rockmart, GA; paternal great grandparents, Roger and Linda Nickerson of Gainesville, GA and Dawn Kurtz of Maysville, GA; aunts and uncles, Haley and Rocky Hicks of Euharlee, GA, Brandon and Taylor Nickerson of Ball Ground, GA, Corey Nickerson of Rome, GA, Kris Nickerson of Rome, GA, and Kyle Kessler of Rome, GA; 8 cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 6, 2021, at 2pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel.  The Rev. Barry Snapp will officiate.  Interment will follow in Rockmart Memorial Gardens.

Masks are requested for those attending the funeral service.


Mr. Billy Poteete, age 77, of Aragon, Ga., passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021.

Homegoing Services are incomplete but will be announced at a later date.

Mrs. Jolena Morrison, age 93, of Cedartown transitioned from Labor to Reward September 2, 2021. The Celebration of Life for Mrs. Jolena Morrison (The Matriarch) is forthcoming.

  Mr. Harold Edward Atkins, age 70, of Rome, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at a local hospital.

Mr. Atkins was born in Marietta, Georgia on February 20, 1951, son of the late Calvin Atkins and the late Bertha Atkins.  He was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps serving during the Vietnam War.  Prior to retirement, he was a police officer.

Survivors include two sons, Todd Atkins and Chad Atkins.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at 10:30am at Georgia National Cemetery.  The American Legion Post #5 Honor Guard will present military honors.
