The Georgia State Patrol reports an accident Friday night has claimed the life of an Armuchee woman.
Brandy Amanda Stansell, 39, of Armuchee, driving a 2002 Toyota 4Runner, was stopped at the corner of Ga 140 and Floyd Springs Road waiting to turn when she was struck from behind by a Hummer H3 driven by a 16-year-old male. His name is not being released at this time.
According to Georgia State Patrol Lt. Mark Riley, Director of the Public Information Office, Stansell’s car was pushed into the path of an oncoming 2008 Dodge truck and was struck on the passenger side. Stansell died on the scene from injuries suffered in the wreck.
Georgia State Patrol Post 38 is in charge of the investigation, and they called in SCRT, or the Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team to assist. According to the Georgia State Patrol website, SCRT has five teams of investigators stationed strategically throughout the state to assist field troopers with fatal crashes via specially trained investigators who properly document evidence in collisions for use in successful court prosecution.
