Monday morning’s scheduled debut of Buc-ee’s is a go. Doors will open at 6 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony set for 1 p.m.
The massive conveniene store and gas “oasis” is at 601 Union Grove Road just off I-75. It features more than 53,200 square feet and offers 120 fueling positions just outside its store with thousands of snack, meal and drink options. Buc-ee’s favorites include Texas barbecue, homemade fudge, kolaches, Beaver nuggets, jerky and fresh pastries.

From doughnuts to sushi. That’s the plan for 408 Court St., former Calhoun home of Daylight Donuts, as it morphs into Mr. Sumo
The new restaurant received a 100 score on its preopening Health Department inspection. In addition to sushi rolls, Mr. Sumo features teriyaki and hibachi entrees with fried rice, vegtables or sub noodles for a $1 more. Prices range from $5.49 to $10.99 (more for some combos).
The hours will be 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and from noon until 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. You can keep up with opening plans and check the menu below:
