‘Threatened litigation’ the focus of called meeting Friday by the Floyd County Board of Elections and Registration. The meeting begins at 4 p.m. and almost immediately, the three-member board will go into a closed meeting “to discuss pending and threatened litigation.” State Open Meetings laws allows government boards to meet in private to discuss personnel, pending litigation and real estate issues. The elections board, once public again, will closed with any announcements.
The second public hearing for the millage rate to be set by the Floyd County Board of Education will be Monday, July 26, at 11:30 a.m. and the third public hearing will be at 6 p.m. that day. At 6:15 pm, the board will have a called board meeting to set the millage rate. All of these meetings will be held at the county schools’ office.
