The Exchange Club’s speaker this Friday is Mason Hogan, director of operations for Aluminum Cups with Ball Corp. The meeting begins at noon at The Palladium at the Coosa Valley Fairgrounds. For more on the club.

About Hogan: He joined Ball in January 2020 for the groundbreaking of its first aluminum cup production plant in Shannon and “over the past 18 months has overseen the successful completion and startup of the plant and the recruitment, hiring and training of more than 100 team members. Prior to joining Ball, Mason served a total of 18 years in operations leadership roles with Coca-Cola in Texas, Missouri, Ohio and California.”

 


 


The Friends of Sloppy will be selling homemade ice cream Saturday, July 24, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at James H. “Sloppy” Floyd State Park. They will have vanilla, chocolate, lemon, orange sherbet, cherry, orange crush, peach, butter pecan, and Milky Way available to purchase for $2 per cup. Be sure to stop by and get some; it’s going to be good.
