Bluem at 217 N. Fifth Ave. in the River District is getting some regional attention (if not national) in the latest edition of Southern Lady. The Rome Floyd Chamber shared an update about one of the top new businesses in the past year. Master Gardener Carol Rutledge is behind it all. Southern Lady is a bimonthly publication with a strong following. You can purchase a copy of the September edition spotlighting Rutledge and Bluem by clicking here.
Talk about a dynamic duo: Icy Dog offers hot dogs, ice cream and … : This was one of those random Facebook posts we all see. A shop in Cedartown, near the Coca-Cola museum, offering a combination of hot dogs, ice cream and other treats. Icy Dog opened earlier this year at 228 N. Main St. and the mantra on their page says it all:
“Icy Dog was created because sometimes you want ice cream, sometimes you want a hot dog, sometimes you want ice cream AND a hot dog, and sometimes you want an ICE CREAM HOT DOG!”
Open Thursdays through Sunday from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m., you’ll find the menu here. Options include combos ($4.99 to $6.99) with chips and a drink featuring: Plain dogs, chili dogs, chili slaw dogs and others; tacos and nachos; soft drinks. The ice cream gets interesting: rolled ice cream as well as one, two or three scoops.
And then there’s the Icy Dog for $3.99: “The Famous Ice Cream Hotdog.”
