Easy Auto, a Cleveland, Tenn., -based car dealership, is just about ready to open the new store on Shorter Avenue. Will Pinson of Pinson’s Construction shares that the building is completed. Easy Auto is adjacent to the PPG Paint Store, at the corner of Shorter Avenue and Old Airport Road. The company has other locations including Cleveland, Chattanooga, Murfreesboro, Knoxville and Dalton.

According to their website, Easy Auto is a family owned business started in 1991. It specializes in “second chances” when making financing. They also offer home delivery.
Originally set for last Saturday, the auction for the Rome Manufacturing multipurpose campus at 202 E. Second Ave. has moved to July 3. Tara McLean, president of Elite Auctions, says the move was made in part to “give potential buyers a bit more time for due diligence.” The auction once again is set for 11 a.m. onsite and remote bidding as well. Registration begins at 9 a.m.

- Built as a clothing mill and home to Rome Manufacturing Co., it has been converted to a modern 38,000 square-foot commercial building with an executive/owner suite occupying the top floor as a private residence. Retail on the lower two floors includes The Lodge, hair salon, yoga and pilates studio as well as a law firm. “The lower two floors are currently leased and provide an annual income of approximately $160,000.” It also is home to State Mutual Insurance.
