From Floyd County Schools:“Every family goes home with around 50 pounds of food. Fresh fruits and veggies, dry goods, bakery items, dairy, meats, etc. (items may vary). No income levels, no requirements. This is a market partnership with the Atlanta Community Food Bank. No smoking is allowed.”

21st Annual “Night at the Movies” returns Tuesday, benefits Exchange Club Family Resource Center

Since 1990, the annual “Night at the Movies” has been a Rome tradition, bringing good friends together for a great cause, the prevention of child abuse.  To date, the event has raised almost $300,000 for the Exchange Club Family Resource Center.  This year, the annual event will take place on June 8 at the Movies at Berry Square, 2820 Martha Berry Highway.

Doors will open 6 p.m. and guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres and libations. At 7:15 p.m., guests will find their way to their choice of five movies.  Tickets are available online at www.frcrome.org or by calling 706-290-0764. Tickets cost $55 per person, $100 for couples, and $45 each for groups of 10 or more tickets. There were be several protocols in place to encourage safety: Food will be served to guests instead of the usual self-serve buffet, inside and outside food tables will be placed to reduce crowding, and guests will be asked to mask when they are not enjoying food and drinks.

Proceeds benefit The Exchange Club Family Resource Center and its in-home child abuse prevention program.
