Lee Roy Stanley, age 81, of Rome, GA, passed away Saturday evening, May 29, 2021, at his residence.
Mr. Stanley was born in Cherry Log, GA, on January 9, 1940, son of the late John Warfield Stanley and Othello Mann Stanley. He had been a resident of Rome and Floyd County the greater part of his life and was a graduate of Coosa High School. Mr. Stanley had worked with Inland Rome Paper Company for a number of years and was a member of the Rome Church of Christ. He enjoyed making all kinds of items from wood including furniture. Mr. Stanley’s favorite pastime was when he was on the golf course. He was a member of Kraftsman’s Club where he had served several years as president.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Stanley was preceded in death by a brother, Leon Stanley, two sisters, Jannie Ruth Baker and Nellie Wilson, a daughter Christy Heard. His son, Keith Stanley, passed away just a few hours after he did.
Mr. Stanley is survived by his wife, Ann Erwin Stanley; two daughters and a son-in-law, Debbie and Danny Diprima, and Lee Ann Davis, all of Rome; a son, Adam Stanley of Rome; two sisters, Glenell Fricks of Rome, and Lorene Williams, of Elijay, GA. Five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends also survive.
In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Stanley has been cremated.
A private family graveside service will be held in the Stanley Family Cemetery in Blue Ridge, GA, for Both, Mr. Stanley and Keith Stanley.

Gregory Keith Stanley, age 58, of Rome, GA, passed away Sunday morning, May 30, 2021, at his residence.
A native of Rome and Floyd County, Keith was born November 25, 1962, son of Ann Erwin Stanley and the late Roy Lee Stanley. He was a mechanic for most of his life and worked for a period of time with Tommy Roberts Trucking. Keith loved fishing and was an avid golfer. His passing was only hours after his father, Lee Roy Stanley. Also preceding him in death was a sister, Christy Heard.
Keith is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Angela Stanley of Rome; daughter, Jamison Charles of Rome; two grandchildren, Brennex and Iris Stanley; his mother, Ann Erwin Stanley of Rome; sisters and brother-in-law, Debbie and Danny Diprima, and Lee Ann Davis, all of Rome; brother, Adam Stanley of Rome. Several other relatives and friends also survive.
In keeping with his wishes, Keith has been cremated.
A private family graveside service will be held in the Stanley Family Cemetery in Blue Ridge, GA, for both Mr. Stanley and Keith Stanley.

Mrs. Betty Lou Helton Kelley, age 85, of Rome, GA, passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at a local hospital.
Mrs. Kelley was born in Rome, Georgia on September 17, 1935, the daughter of the late James R. V. Helton and the late Eva Mae Fowler Helton. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and for many years, she was a member of West Rome Baptist Church, where she was active in the children and youth choir ministries and sang in the Chancel Choir. After retiring from Northwest Georgia Regional Hospital, she spent many years as a substitute teacher at Garden Lakes Elementary School. She was a devoted grandmother who never missed one of her grandchildren’s activities. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Walter Kelley, by her daughter, Karen Louise Kelley, by her sister, Annie Jackson, and by her brother, LeRoy Helton.
Survivors include her two sons, Bryan Kelley (Tara) and Michael Kelley (Becky), all of Rome; her grandchildren, Laura Smith (Bradley), Steven Kelley (Ansley), Sarah Buice (Tyler), Kristina Tucker (Ryan), Lauren Hui (Nathan), Ian Harper and Madison Hill; her great grandchildren, Lindsey Kelley, Bryson Tucker, Avery Hui, Remington Hui, Kinley Smith, Emmie Jo Smith and Ellorie Smith; her sister, Joan Brumbelow; several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 7, 2021, at 2:30pm at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with Dr. Gary Graves officiating.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, on Monday, June 7, 2021, from 12:00pm until 2:00pm.
Pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, on Monday at 1:30pm and include: Todd Kelley, Chad Kelley, Craig Jackson, Jeff Jackson, Jason Brumbelow, Bradley Smith, Tyler Buice, Ryan Tucker and Nathan Hui.
Mr. Perry Wayne Mooney, age 73, of Rome, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021, at a local hospital.
Mr. Mooney was born in Rome, Georgia on September 13, 1947, son of the late John Berry Mooney and the late Betty Ann Battles Mooney. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force serving in the Vietnam War. Mr. Mooney was a carpenter and was a member of Vanns Valley United Methodist Church. He loved fishing, hunting, gardening, and working in his workshop. Mr. Mooney loved eating his wife’s cooking and telling stories to his friends and family.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Marai Muagcharoen Mooney; a son, John Wayne Mooney, Rome; a daughter, Beverly Ann Andrea (Colt), Orange Park, FL; a brother, Johnny Mooney, Rome; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at 2pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Johnny Langston officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery with the American Legion Post #5 Honor Guard presenting military honors.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Saturday from 12 noon until 1:45pm.
Mrs. Terri Hastings Scott, age 58, of Rome, passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at her parent’s residence.
Mrs. Scott was born in Rome, Georgia on January 16, 1963, daughter of Richard and Janice Hastings. She was preceded in death by her faithful canine companion, Taz. Terri worked as a Customer Service Representative for Garner & Glover Insurance Company.
Survivors include her husband, Dan B. Scott, to whom she was married on May 20, 1994; her parents, Richard & Janice Hastings, Rome; two sisters, Patti Kean, Cedartown, and Julie Brandon, Bonaire; nieces & nephews, Nicholas Kean, Casey Kean, Austin Worthey, Jordan Worthey, and Anna Grace Brandon; her canine companions, Callie & Charlie.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at 4pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Sunday from 3pm until the service time.
