Dr. Sydney Barton Kinne III, age 78, of Rome, GA, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021, at a local hospital.
Sydney was born in Brunswick, Georgia on July 15, 1942, son of the late Sydney Barton Kinne, Jr. and the late Ellerie Edwards Kinne. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Dozer Kinne. He was employed with Inland Rome. Sydney graduated from University of Georgia, Perdue University, and Havard University. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Panama City, FL. Sydney enjoyed family and friends, and golf and fishing.
Survivors include a son, Sydney Barton “Bart” Kinne IV; two daughters, Cynthia Lynn Kinne and Katherine Ware, and her husband, Dr. Mike Ware; a brother, David Kinne; step-children, Marty and Anita Tabb, Dozer and Nancy Tabb; grandchildren, Joshua Brett Kinne, Jessica Elizabeth Dowdy, Kaitlyn Brooke Dowdy, Joseph Hunter Dowdy; step-grandchildren, Justin and Ashley Anglin, Zack Ware, and Megan Ware; great grandchildren, Sullwan and Rose Anglin; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at 5:00pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, with the Rev. Jerry Brooks officiating. Private interment will follow in Colquitt City Cemetery, Colquitt, GA.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, on Thursday from 3pm until 5:00pm. At other hours, they will be at their respective residences.
Mr. Donnie Lee Smith, age 69, of Rome, GA, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021, at a local hospital.
Mr. Smith was born in Floyd County, GA, on December 8, 1951, son of the late Marvin J. Smith and the late Beulah Hesler Smith. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Eugene Smith, and by a sister, Marvine Hibberts. Mr. Smith was a commercial electrician and retired in 2016 from the IBEW Local #613.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia (Cindy) Norman Smith, Rome, to whom he was married on August 7, 1971; a son, Christopher Lee Smith; nieces and nephew.
In keeping with Mr. Smith’s wishes, he will be cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Ricky David Gresham, age 58, of Rome, GA, passed away Monday, May 31, 2021, at a local hospital.
Mr. Gresham was born in Rome, GA on January 1, 1963, son of Charles J. Gresham, Jr. and the late Louise Statham Gresham. He was a graduate of Model High School in Rome. Mr. Gresham was a self-employed carpenter and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his son, Justin Gresham (Kristen), Cartersville; 2 sisters, Shelia Overby (Bill), Silver Creek, and Tammy Kay (David), Rome; 2 brothers, James Gresham (Kathy), Rome, and Leslie Gresham (Patty), Armuchee; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at 1pm at the graveside in Floyd Memory Gardens. The Rev. Terry Addis will officiate.

Mrs. Martha Jo Harper Brewer, age 86, of Rome, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021, at a Cartersville healthcare facility.
Mrs. Brewer was born in Floyd County, Georgia on October 12, 1934, daughter of the late Warner Asa Harper and the late Johnnie McKinney Harper. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Wilma Springer. Mrs. Brewer was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She worked for several years at Celanese Corporation and then retired from Hostess Bakery. After retirement, she went back to work for Winshape at Berry College until she was 80 years old.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Harlan Brewer, to whom she was married on May 28, 1952; a daughter, Jennifer Clark (Brad), Rome; three sons, Ricky Brewer, Rome, Bradley Brewer, Rome, and Kevin Brewer (Emily), Rome; 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021, at 11am at the graveside at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Tony Cargle will officiate with her son, Kevin Brewer, delivering the eulogy.

Marsha Haynie Sears, age 71, of Rome passed away May 31, 2021 at her residence.
Marsha was born on March 10, 1950 in Lexington, Kentucky, to the late Ralph Newton Haynie and Betty Drummond. Mrs. Sears was a member of Dykes Creek Baptist Church. She worked at Northern Tel Com and later worked at Walmart. She was preceded in death by a son James Richard Sears, Jr.; and by her parents.
Survivors include her husband: James Sears Sr.; Lois Ardina Jarrett; grandchildren: J. Scott Callaway, Kassie Ingle, Angela Sears, James Sears, Bridget Sandy, Sarah Stephens, Makenna Callaway; great grandchild: Olivia Cain.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday June 4, 2021 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home with Rev. Mikel Garrett and Rev. James Wrlyals officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday June 3, 2021 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home.
Mrs. Fannie Mae Bearden Owens, age 81, of Silver Creek passed away Sunday May 30, 2021 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Owens was born February 18, 1940, in Floyd County a daughter of the late John Bradford Bearden, and Margaret Gilmore Bearden. Mrs. Owens loved fishing, gardening, cooking and working in her flower beds. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Owens, son Garner McDaniel, 3 brothers, and a sister.
Survivors include her children, Jerry McDaniel, Melinda (Clyde) Barnette, Debra (Jerry) Ferguson, Cathy (Richard) Abbott, Charles Lavon (Barbara) Owens, Tracy Morris, stepchildren, Gail Owens, Russell Owens, Kenneth Owens, sisters, Rebecca (Hugh) Rosser, Linda McDaniel, 34 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday June 3, 2021 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home chapel, with Rev. Gilbert Gentry, officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. until the funeral hour on Thursday at Good Shepherd Funeral Home.
Mr. Charles James Creamer, age 70, of Rome, Georgia, passed away on May 31, 2021.
