BASEBALL

A nice way to start the second month of the 2021 season for the Rome Braves — tied for first atop the High A East and playing the team they’re tied with over the next six days.

 

The Rome Braves were off Monday; open series tonight at Bowling Green. The next game at State Mutual Stadium will be on June 8 vs. the Asheville Tourists.

Atlanta Braves takes Nationals 5-3 in series opener Monday night. Ronald Acuña Jr. smashed his 16th home run of the season, putting him in a tie for the most in the Majors.

  • Roster: The #Braves today selected the contract of OF Abraham Almonte and optioned RHP Jay Flaa to Triple-A Gwinnett. To make room on the 40-man roster, Atlanta transferred RHP Huascar Ynoa to the 60-day IL.

The Georgia High School Association’s first dead is now through Sunday. Second week is Monday, June 28,  to Sunday, July 4.

ATLANTA HAWKS

Atlanta lead the Knicks three games to one in in best-of-seven playoff series. Game 5 is Wednesday at New York; 7:30 p.m. One more win and the Hawks advance to the next round.


COMMUNITY
