Three views fo quick work at Kohl’s store going up at East Bend. TOP, from the parking lot, shows the first front wall adjoining what eventually will be Old Navy looking toward Five Below. MIDDLE is a reverse of that shot, showing the work adjacent to the vacant Old Navy building. THIRD is a look from Etowah Crossing shopping center (Dollar Tree parking lot) at just how deep the Kohl’s crew is building. Hometown photos.

The official word from Kohl’s at East Bend is Rome is as follows: “There’s nothing to share just yet but I will keep you posted.”

Our visual tour on Friday, shows otherwise. A week earlier, basic grading was continuing on the hole between Five Below and what eventually will be Old Navy.  Some parking spots in front of the store were filled with rows of steel. Since then, walls are under way the Old Navy portion of the store and the work to the backside seems to be moving even faster.

Kohls is expected to open by October, plenty of time before the Christmas rush.

A building permit worth $2.6 million for the store was issued several months ago and construction bids have ranged from $3 million to $5 million.
