ACC men’s, women’s tennis tournament wraps up at Rome Tennis Center at Berry College.

 

May 8: High school tennis finals coming to Rome: The Georgia High School Association’s state championships in tennis will be played at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College. The schedule:

  • Girls Report at 8-8:30 a.m; play at 9 a.m.
  • Boys Report at noon-12:30 p.m.; play at 1 p.m.
  • Tickets: $5. Tickets will be sold exclusively on GoFan, no cash sales at site.

HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL/spring
  • May 13: Darlington’s spring scrimmage, 7 p.m. at home vs. North Murray.
  • May 14: Rome High’s Red and Gold Scrimmage

Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation and Darlington School play host to Major League Baseball’s youth event: The Pitch, Hit and Run Competition for Rome and Floyd County. Boys and girls show off their skills and abilities in these free and fun competitions at the local level with the opportunity to advance and compete at the regional level.
  • Wednesday: The Pitch, Hit and Run Competition is the one for you to show off your all around baseball skills. Set to take place at 6 p.m. boys and girls age 14 and under compete at the Alto Park Complex to see who has the most accurate strike in the game, furthest hit from a stationary tee, and quickest base running times from starting at home plate to finishing at home plate.
