Mr. Tony Wayne Martin, age 53, of Lindale, passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at a local hospital.
Tony was born in Rome, Georgia on October 20, 1967, son of Jerry Milton Martin and Syble Ruth Tillery Martin. He was a graduate of Pepperell High School and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Mr. Martin was the manager of Martin’s Auto. He was a member of the NRA and was a former member of the Police Explorers.
Survivors include his wife, Nea Faye Walters Martin; a son, Joey Ryan Martin (Breeanna); a grandson, Conner Charles Wayne Martin; his parents, Jerry & Syble Martin; three sisters, Celina Dellinger (Tommy), Pamela Ann Colston (David), and Tammy Diane Martin-Hulsey; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021, at 1pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Matthew Dellinger and the Rev. Trey Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in Rome Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Friday from 11am until 12:45pm.
Mr. Arvil L. Thompson, age 87, of Rome, passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021.
Mr. Thompson was born in Alabama on January 11, 1934, son of the late Erastus Clyde Thompson and the late Hattie Ophelia Anderson Thompson. He retired from Berry College where he was Physical Plant Supervisor. He was involved in several civic organizations and served as President of the State of Georgia Jaycees. He was also a member of the “Willing Shepherds.” He loved to quail hunt, to fish and gardening. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Forrest Thompson and Ernest Thompson.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty Lockridge Thompson; his children, Greg Thompson (Mary Ann) and Teritha Lewis; his grandchildren, Nicole Thompson-Piper (Ryan), Casey Cochran (Joseph), and Logan Swanson (Amanda); his seven great grandchildren; his brother, William Thompson (Nellie); his sister, Patricia Williams (Charles); and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, with the Rev. Jerry Chitwood officiating. Entombment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, on Friday, April 23, 2021, from 12:00 pm until the service time. Social distancing guidelines will be followed, and masks are requested.
Pallbearers are asked to assemble on Friday, April 23, 2021, at 1:30pm and include: Randall Brown, Bill Case, Wesley Oxford, Tim Rice, Jimmy Floyd, Bruce Nicholson and Don Murdock. The Willing Shepherds will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mr. Perry Eugene Washington, age 56, of Cedartown transitioned April 20, 2021.
Service for Mr. Washington will be Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 1 pm at New Bethel Baptist Church (Collard Valley). The body will lie instate from 12 noon until the funeral hour. Interment will follow at Northview Cemetery.
