Buzz: ‘Film closures’ set for downtown Cartersville spots next week. First Dirt Road Festival set for April 16-18.

It looks like Cartersville can’t stay out of the camera lense these days. Fresh from a few scenes for a car commercial, more taping is under way at the above spots this week. As usual, no names have been disclosed but some speculation involves Powerpuff, a live-action twist on the cartoon Powerpuff Girls. Production has begun in the Atlanta area.
This update from Downtown Cartersville:
“Have you noticed film crews out and about in Downtown Cartersville? We know what you may be thinking— traffic. It is easy to get frustrated when our daily operations are impacted, but we’re working hard with location directors to ensure a smooth process for all. Fun fact– a typical movie on location spends tens of thousands on hotels, restaurants, gas stations, dry cleaners, hardware stores and area labor. Our local community is fortunate to reap economic benefits whenever film productions come to town– jobs are created, money flows into local businesses and tax revenues are generated. Please take note of the traffic pattern changes for next week.”
Area residents might be used to the cinema/TV guests. Some recent shoots there include (from imdb.com):
  • Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) …
  • Game Night (I) (2018) …
  • The Best of Enemies (2019) …
  • The Fundamentals of Caring (2016) …
  • Need for Speed (2014) …
