OUTLOOK

Forecasters are tracking multiple disturbances that could impact our area today through Saturday. /frontal systems look to impact the area. Our area is listed as being a marginal risk today and Friday, and perhaps more so on Saturday. Each system could pack winds of 60 mph or higher, isolated tornadoes and heavy rain on top of all that was left by the March storms. Friday’s outlook also includes large hail as does Saturday’s.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible across the area today and tonight, mainly during the afternoon hours. A few storms could be strong with gusty winds, heavy rain and small hail the primary threats. An isolated severe storm is also possible, mainly over west-central and northwest Georgia. Additional periods of showers and thunderstorms can be expected Friday and Saturday. The risk for a few strong to severe storms will exist both days, with the threat of locally heavy rain, strong to damaging winds and hail. A brief tornado will also be possible, especially Saturday.

We’ll have continuing updates on Hometown Headlines throughout the storm threat.
