Mrs. Donna Byrd Price, age 69, of Rome, GA, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2021, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Price was born in Rome, GA on August 21, 1951, daughter of the late Herschel Lee Byrd, Jr. and the late Jewell Dean Kelley Byrd. Prior to her retirement, she served as Administrative Assistant to the Pastor at Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church. She was an active member of Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church where she sang in the church choir.

Survivors include her husband, James R. “Jim” Price, to whom she was married on August 24, 1968; her daughter, Bethany Price Gordon (Neil), Rome; her son, Brandon Price (Becca), Rome; 4 grandchildren, Kaitlin, Kiley, and Karoline Gordon, and Brock Price; a brother, Al Byrd, Loganville; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at 11am at the graveside in East View Cemetery. Her Pastor, Dr. Philip May and her cousin, the Rev. Doyle Kelley will officiate.

Active pallbearers will include John Kelley, Eddie Smith, Don Smith, Seth Hines, Lee Clevenger, and Russ Dyer. Honorary pallbearers are Ray Hines, Ronnie Hutchins, Fred Bollinger, Danny Hutchins, and Anthony Holcombe. All should assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Thursday at 9:30am.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church, P. O. Box 519, Silver Creek, GA 30173.

 Mr. Zerrll Wade Kelley, age 81, of Cedartown, GA, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021, at a healthcare facility in Rome, GA.

Mr. Kelley was born in Athens, AL on December 30, 1939, son of the late Zerrll Jack Kelley and the late Pauline Oaks Kelley.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Wynell Alexander, and by a brother, Phil Kelley.  Mr. Kelley was a graduate of Athens High School.  Before his retirement from Spears Mattress, he worked in management and sales for Curtis Mathis, National Linen Service, as well as MediClean.  Mr. Kelley was a member of the Full Gospel Men’s Association and was a devout Christian.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra “Sandy” Rogers Kelley, Cedartown, to whom he was married on May 29, 1960; daughter, Lisa Shiflett (Richard), Rome; son, Doug Kelley (Cindy), Silver Creek; 2 grandchildren, Clay Shiflett (Alice), Rome, and Kristen Shiflett, Seattle, WA; a step-grandson, Justin Evans (Anna), Calhoun; 4 step-great-grandchildren, Tristan, Christopher, Gabe and Kherington; sister, Jackie Scott (Clyde), Tuscaloosa, AL; nieces and nephews.

In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Kelley will be cremated and a Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, March 14, 2021, at 3pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Pastor Adam Colston officiating.  Social distancing guidelines will be followed.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2pm until service time at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel.  Social distancing guidelines will be followed.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial donations be made to We The Church at or by mailing donations to P.O. Box 206, Rome, GA  30162.

Mary Jean Allmon, age 47, of Rome passed away Sunday March 7, 2021.
Mary was born on July 3, 1973 in Floyd County, to the late Buddy Charles Allmon and Betty Grant. She was a member of Bethel Crossroads Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a sister: Glenda Wells.
Survivors include brothers: Charles (Opal) Allmon, David Allmon, Lee Allmon, Earl Allmon, Andy Allmon; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside and interment services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday March 11, 2021 at Bethel Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Timothy Williams, and Rev. John Redd. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday March 10, 2021 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include the following gentlemen: Billy Sprayberry, Timmy Grant, Virgil Grant, David Allmon, Jr. David Dover, Sr., David Dover, Jr., Chris Emerson.
