Rome Police continue to seek details on a fatal hit-and-run accident on McLin Street on Jan. 13. How to help.

 

Media release: The Rome Police Department Selective Enforcement Unit seeksĀ  information in reference to a fatal hit-and-run traffic crash that occurred on Jan. 13 on South McLin Street in the early morning. Results from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab report have indicated that paint transfer from the vehicle to victim are indicative to the following make and model vehicles. The paint on the victim’s clothing is dark metallic blue/green blue in color.

  • 2000 – 2003 Acura CL
  • 2004 Acura MDX
  • 2004 Honda Odysey
  • 2004 – 2007 Honda Civic
  • 2004 Honda Pilot
  • 2005 – 2007 Acura CSX
  • 2005 Acura EL
  • 2006 – 2007 Acura RDX

The vehicle involved should have front end/undercarriage damage. The driver of this vehicle is expected to be directly involved with the death of the pedestrian from this crash. Update: Floyd County Deputy Coroner John Hamilton says the victim was a male, but no ID yet. His body has been sent to the GBI Crime Lab for identification.

Media release: The Rome Police Department Selective Enforcement Unit is seeking information in reference to a fatal hit-and-run traffic crash that occurred on Wednesday on South McLin Street in the early morning. We are seeking information from the driver of a white newer model 4-door Nissan Frontier. This vehicle was last seen in the area at 07:44 a.m.

The white Nissan Frontier may have possible front-end and/or undercarriage damage. The driver of this vehicle may be directly involved or may have other information relating to the death of the pedestrian from this crash.
