Because we haven’t had an update on East Bend since Sunday (… an inside joke), this item:
All eyes continue on East Bend off Turner McCall and Hicks Drive in Rome as more new stores and restaurants come online. Between Monday and Tuesday, the signs went up for Jersey Mike’s and there’s a buzz already. Among the chatter: How close Jersey Mike’s is to McAlister’s Deli. The two are different to a degree but sandwiches are among the heart of their menus.
As the above picture shows, they’re an easy walk apart — maybe a plus for couples or groups who have different interests. Not shown in the photo, and a few doors toward Home Depot from Jersey Mike’s, is another competitor: Wingstop. At least the menu is different.
What’s interesting: No drive-through for either Jersey Mike’s or Wingstop which shouldn’t be a major issue but fast-food shops here heard the customer demand for easy pick-up service. One of the key moves Little Caesar’s made when shifting to its Turner McCall location was the addition of a drive through. What we know so far:
Jersey Mike’s Subs.
Look for opening this spring. Jobs
What’s on the menu: Subs
