From Sen. Jon Ossoff, D-Ga.:
Today, as I was sworn in, I held in my jacket pocket copies of the ships’ manifests recorded at Ellis Island when my Great Grandfather Israel arrived in 1911 and my Great Grandmother Annie arrived in 1913.
A century later, their great grandson was elected to the U.S. Senate. pic.twitter.com/cjTNMMfYwP

Up next: As stated below — sans names — the Georgia Secretary of State’s office certified all votes in the Jan. 5 election, making the two Democrats’ victories official. That also means Bubba McDonald, a Republican, won another term on the Public Service Commission.
Ossoff and Warnock will be sworn in, likely within the next 24 hours.
