  • 1 more COVID death here Sunday: Gordon County. Regional death toll: 426 since March 15, 2020.  
  • Fewer days to get free COVID tests this week. Says Dr. Gary Voccio: Health Departments are continuing with free COVID testing, but it is becoming more limited because staff is now focused on vaccination.
  • 3 deaths statewide reported Sunday. Total now at 11,032. State’s “probable deaths” estimate: 1,264, up 2. Daily COVID record: 159 on Jan. 15.
  • Statewide: 5,404 new cases on Snrday. Total now: 680,378. State record: 10,379 new cases on Jan. 8. State’s first case was March 2, 2020.
  • 183 new positive cases in past 24 hours in NW Georgia. Record: 363 on Jan. 8.
