Buzz: College and Career Academy tours today following ribbon cutting Friday. Floyd Board of Education meets Monday. Lane closed on I-75 in Gordon County on Monday.

Following ribbon cutting ceremonies Friday (above), Rome City Schools is offering tours of the College and Career Academy building this Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Part of the 2017 education special tax, the addition also features expanded athletic facilities including an indoor practice field. Open to all, visitors need to know “masks are required and social distancing guidelines will be practiced.”


From the Floyd County Board of Education: “We will have a Called Board meeting Monday at 8:15 a.m. to approve a couple of personnel changes and discuss and approve COVID leave for employees.  At the end, the board will go into a closed meeting to discuss personnel and property (both allowed under Georgia’s Open Meetings law).


Interstate road work: Weather permitting, crews in Northwest Georgia will close the right northbound lane of I-75 to repair signage along the route on Mondayfrom 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. The northbound right lane of I-75 will be closed between mileposts 310 and 312. The exits at 310 and 312 will remain open.
