From Bartow Fire Chief Dwayne Jamison: Bartow County Fire & Emergency Services reports with a heavy heart that crews were called to the area of Clark Circle near Glade Rd. at 11:50 this morning to a reported mobile home fire with a possible child inside. An off duty Firefighter attempted to rescue the child but was unsuccessful. BCFES crews arrived on scene to find the mobile home fully involved. The remains of what is believed to be the missing 3 year old male family member has been located and turned over to the Bartow County Coroner’s Office for identification. The BCFES Fire Marshal is on scene investigating the cause. BCFES in-house counselors have been notified and will be working with our crews in the days to come.

This is the fifth fatal fire in recent weeks and sixth incident this year in Bartow County. An older woman died in a structure fire on Dec. 19 (see below).
