Sunday:

  • Six more COVID deaths in NW Georgia including 3 in Floyd and 3 in Bartow. The total since March 15 is 359.
  • 147 COVID patients under care at Redmond Regional, Floyd Medical Center as of midday Wednesday, up 7 in 24 hours. That’s a pandemic record.
  • 94 new positive cases in the past 24 hours in NW Georgia. The record: 345 on Dec. 24.
  • Free test sites closed through today.
  • Another testing option in Rockmart: Peachtree Immediate Care has opened a drive-through testing site in the shopping center at Ga. 101 and U.S. 278 (in front of Triangle Foods).   • 54 deaths reported statewide Saturday. Total now at 9,710. State’s “probable deaths” estimate: 975. Daily COVID record: 130 deaths on Aug. 11.

Wednesday: 147 patients at Floyd, Redmond, up 7 since Monday. That is the pandemic record.

  • Floyd: 77 patients, up three. No patients awaiting test results.
  • Redmond Regional: 70 patients, up 4. 2 patients awaiting test results.
  • AdventHealth Gordon reported 30-plus patients as of Dec. 16 and at full capacity.
  • Cartersville Medical Center, 29 COVID patients as of Dec. 8.
  • Statewide: 3,280 as of Dec. 18; a pandemic record.

  • Bartow County: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday: The Church at Liberty Square, 2001 Liberty Square Drive, Cartersville, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
  • Gordon County: Tuesday and Wednesday, Senior Center, 150 Cambridge Court, Calhoun, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
  • Polk County:  Free COVID-19 rapid testing is now available at the Polk County Health Department. No appointment necessary. However, by appointment for symptomatic people only. They should call the health department at 770-749-2270 for an appointment.
