We respectfully announce the passing of Ms. Lena Green age 82 of Rome, Georgia at a local health care facility.

Graveside service will be Monday, November 30, 2020, at 12:00 p.m. Morning View Cemetery GA-53, Rome, Georgia 30161.

In order to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, masks are required.

Wright Memorial Mortuary of Rome, Georgia has full charge of arrangements for Ms. Green.


 

Ms. Jacqueline Wise Gibson, age 57, of Rome transitioned November 25, 2020. Complete arrangements are incomplete.

Mrs. Elizabeth Louise Holden O’Berry, age 66, of Kingston passed away Saturday November 22, 2020.

Mrs. O’Berry was born December 5, 1953, in Rome, a daughter of the late William Virgil Holder, and Mary Kenne. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, and was retired from Bundy Tubing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Boyd O’Berry.

Survivors include her son, Shane O’Berry, sister, Mary (Travis) Goswick, brothers William Holden, David (Fay) Holden, James Holden, Russell (Kathy) Holden, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday December 1, 2020 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, with Rev. Jerry Branton, officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. until the funeral hour on Tuesday, at the Church.

Ms. Evelyn Ellison Reeves, age 69, of Dallas, Ga. (formerly of Cedartown) transitioned November 26, 2020. The service will be Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Cedar Lake Christian Center. Interment will take place at Polk Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Vicky Lynn Timms, age 65, of Kingston, GA, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2020, at a local hospital.

Mrs. Timms was born in Floyd County, GA on July 17, 1955, daughter of the late Lamar Dutton and the late Millicent Barber Dutton.  She was a former employee of Galey & Lord, retiring after 26 years of service, and was a member of Mt. Calvary Freewill Baptist Church. She was a praying woman, kind-hearted, fed the hungry, and faithful to her Saviour.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Lee Timms, to whom she was married for 42 years, by 2 grandchildren, Tony Lee Hicks, Jr., and Christopher Hicks, and by a sister, Darleen Gordon.

Survivors include 3 daughters, Candy Davis (James), Ellijay, Beverly Simpson (Brandon), Alabama, and Christy Timms, Kingston; 2 sons, Chris Timms, Kingston, and Tony Hicks (Terri Sargent), Alabama; a step-daughter, Kim McNabb (Fletcher), Dalton; 2 brothers, Terry Dutton and Edward Dutton, both of Tennessee; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at 11am in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel.  The Rev. Steve Kelley and the Rev. Kenneth Crowe will officiate.  Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Tuesday from 9:30am until 10:45am.  Social distancing guidelines will be followed and masks are requested.

All pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, at 10:30am on Tuesday and are as follows:  Active: Tony Shafer, Blake Wyatt, Justin Duvall, Brandon Simpson, James Davis, and Tony Hicks; Honorary:  Taylor Duvall, Chris Timms, Beverly Simpson, Candy Davis and Christy Timms.

Mr. Lloyd Julian Touchstone, age 80, of Rome, GA, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2020, at his residence.

Mr. Touchstone was born in Rome, GA on July 10, 1940, the son of the late Lloyd Carlton Touchstone and the late Myrtle Kelley Touchstone Standfield.  He graduated from Model High School in the late 1950’s.  He was a paint and body man for over 45 years, working for several local car dealerships.  Mr. Touchstone was a member of Northwoods Baptist Church but attended Friendship Baptist Church the last few years.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Pat Burch.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley Hight Touchstone; his son, Jody Touchstone (Melissa); his granddaughters, Hannah and Lindsey Touchstone; his brother, Charles “Chuck” Touchstone (Evelyn); several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at 1:00pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, with the Rev. Brandon Bruce officiating and with his son, Jody Touchstone, delivering the eulogy.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 30, 2020, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm.  Social distancing guidelines will be followed and masks are requested.
