For those of us who make New Year’s resolutions to reorganize and de-clutter our living spaces, a father-daughter duo in Cartersville have launched a new company to help you do just that. Closets of North Georgia, founded by Chris Boss and Jessica Daniel, can design a custom closet, pantry or storage area for you home with installation within a few weeks.
“I really have a passion for design and organizing and combined with my dad’s passion for woodworking…it is just a neat mesh for us to join together,” says Daniel.
Boss, who also owns Boss Garage Door company founded in 1997, had been looking for another venture that would allow him to use more of his woodworking talents, while also easing up on the heavy lifting involved with garage door installations.
“He is 63 years old and not getting any younger…it is hard lifting garage doors all day. So, he called me and had this idea…asked if I’d do the design training, he would do the installation,” she says. “So here we are launching Closets of North Georgia full-time. It’s a great transition for him to work towards retirement.”
Closets of North Georgia is the only local dealer in Northwest Georgia for Organized Living, a family-owned manufacturer of wood laminate storage and organization products based in Ohio.
“They offer three different product lines with varying wood finishes. We can design any kind of built-in for closets, pantries, laundry rooms, linen closets, garages or offices,” says Daniel.
“I will meet with clients for at least two design appointments to discuss needs, take measurements and then rough sketch a design. I use a CAD system to create a 3D model of their design for approval. Once the materials are ordered, it takes about two weeks to complete installation.”
Based in Cartersville, Closets of North Georgia works with clients in Bartow and surrounding areas including Floyd, Gordon, Cherokee and Cobb counties.
“We started full-time about six weeks ago and have quickly exploded. In fact, we are growing so fast, my dad is looking for another installer to help,” she says.
But more than the work, Daniel and her father are enjoying their partnership and extra time together.
“It’s awesome to spend a lot more time together…it has really been great for us and really cool to be able to do something we both have a passion for together,” she says.
Boss adds, “A family business gives an opportunity to bond in a way few get to experience anymore.
“Children grow up and leave home so soon that few parents get to know what they have become as an adult. Starting Closets of North Georgia with my daughter and making daily decisions with her has confirmed to her mother and me that we succeeded as parents.”
