Now open at Berry Crossing near CVS at Martha Berry and the Bypass. Hometown photos.

Carquest Auto Parts Co. has completed the move from 309 N. Fifth Ave. to the new building on the Berry Crossing project behind CVS and off the Bypass. The store is now at 60 Redmond Road in a recently completed building by property owners Two Old Tigers LLC.  The deal was handled by Hardy Realty.  The store is keeping the same hours, 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday; closed Sunday. The same phone as well: 706-291-0588.

The retail center, just off Martha Berry and the Bypass, has seen a rise in interest, given the cross roads location and the recent opening of The Spires at Berry College and other development in the area. Two Old Tigers also has some additional property to develop on the site, most of it backing up to Redmond across from Harbin Clinic. Look for word on what’s next soon.

The other thing to watch: What happens to Carquest’s former home on North Fifth Avenue. That strip remains red hot as well.

Jill Trapp

The Spires at Berry College has named veteran Sales Counselor Jill Trapp as the new Director of Sales and Marketing. Jill will be overseeing the marketing operations of the community that opened in June. Trapp started with The Spires in 2017 as the Marketing Coordinator and has grown with the organization since then.

“Helping future residents make this decision about The Spires has been a great joy for me,” said Trapp. “My parents are living here now, so I know the work we do has to
meet their standards.”

Sara Bingham

Trapp has worked in healthcare and healthcare marketing for the past 10 years as part of the marketing team at Harbin Clinic. Her passion for caring for others and nurturing her team was what brought her to this position at The Spires.

Also, Sara Bingham has changed roles from Healthcare Marketing to Sales Counselor in Independent Living. Bingham joined The Spires team in July. “My background in healthcare has been a great asset to share with future residents,” say Bingham, “Our residents love knowing the excellent care at Magnolia Place is available to them just in case their health changes.”

The Spires is a Life Plan community of apartment homes and free-standing cottages for those 55 and older. Homes range in size from 900 square feet to 2,400 square feet and come fully furnished with appliances, covered parking and additional storage. Currently the community is 70% reserved and more than 115 residents are living at The Spires.

The community’s construction was overseen by Greenbrier Development in Dallas, Texas, and Brasfield & Gorrie.
