Mrs. Barbara Ann Brown Cooper, age 60, of Rome, GA, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2020, at her residence.
Mrs. Cooper was born in Cedartown, GA on May 11, 1960, daughter of the late Herman and Sara Clark Brown. She was a 1978 graduate of Cedartown High School and she graduated from Jacksonville State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Work. Mrs. Cooper served families for 31 years while employed by the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services. She worked in Augusta, Gainesville and Rome where she retired in 2014 as Director of the Floyd County office.
Mrs. Cooper served on the Rome/Floyd Commission on Children and Youth and she served on the Board of Directors of the Murphy-Harpst Children’s Centers in Cedartown. Mrs. Cooper was a member of First Baptist Church of Rome.
She is survived by her loving husband, Dr. Gayland Cooper; a sister, Laura Brown Kelley (Doyle), Cedartown; and several nieces and nephews.
In accordance with her wishes, Mrs. Cooper was cremated and her remains will be interred in Greenwood Cemetery in Cedartown. All services will be private.

Barbara Butler Cape, age 88, of Rome, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2020, at a local hospital.
Ms. Cape was born in Floyd County, Georgia on August 3, 1932, the daughter of the late Carl Dewitt Butler and the late Eva Mae Trapp Butler. She graduated from Rome Girl’s High School and was a member of the High School Marching Band. She was a member of Grace Fellowship Church in Shannon. She worked and retired as an executive secretary from Atlanta Gas Light after 41 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Butler Johnston, her brother-in-law, Bob Johnston, her nephews, Bobby Johnston, David Johnston and Danny Johnston, and her niece, Angela K. Johnston.
She is survived by her sister, Bonnie Butler; her great nieces, Kimberly Smith (Tommy), Kristy Johnston Tuck and Vicky Johnston; her great nephew, Robby Johnston; her great-great nieces, Lauren Phelps and Rosalie Crowe; and her great-great-great nephew, Grayson Phelps.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, with the Rev. Micah Messer officiating. Interment will follow at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. Social distancing guidelines will be followed, and masks are requested.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, form 1:00 pm until the service time. Social distancing measures will be followed, and masks are requested.
Pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, on Wednesday at 1:30pm and include: Tommy Smith, Doyle Cape, Bill Wooten, Robby Johnston and Tim Dudley.

Mr. Ronnie Neal Abrams, age 66, of Rome, GA, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020, at his residence.
Mr. Abrams was born in Rome, GA on November 11, 1954, son of Ms. Jeanette Miller Abrams. He was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Lamar Abrams, and by his maternal grandmother, Martha Pearl Jones. Before retirement, Mr. Abrams was wire drawer at Bekaert Steel Wire Corporation. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his mother, Jeanette Miller Abrams, Rome; 2 brothers, Bobby Abrams (Robbie), Silver Creek, and Jackie Abrams (Deborah), Silver Creek; nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for Mr. Abrams will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, November 19, 2020, at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens, with his brother, Bobby Abrams, officiating.
