Buzz: Flu cases remain ‘minimal’ as Thanksgiving approaches. ‘Christmas Back Home’ returns with in-person, virtual concerts.

Flu cases remained low in Georgia, U.S. through Nov. 7: Only one state, Iowa, reported a “very high” number of flu cases for the week ending Nov. 7, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. A few others reported “low” readings while Georgia was among a majority of states reporting “minimal” cases. The weekly summary from the Georgia Department of Public Health concurs: No deaths, no outbreaks and no hospitalizations in the metro area. That said, healthcare officials continue to urge residents to get flu shots. The first of the holidays, Thanksgiving, is Nov. 26. Remember it takes two weeks for the flu shot to “work.” Previous reports: Overall
