Rome recorded a high of 82 on Wednesday, beating the record for Nov. 11 by 1 degree, set in 2002. The normal high for this time of year is 66 degrees.
In Cartersville, the record high also was 82, beating 79 degrees set on Nov. 11, 1975.
Wednesday night, a flash flood warning was issued for parts of Bartow and Gordon counties. White Road and several others in Adairsville were swamped as were several nearby fields. The warning was canceled just after 10 p.m., two hours earlier than planned.
