A 75-year-old man is dead and two others were taken to Redmond Regional Medical Center following a collision on wet roads in Polk County at 6:04 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
The report shows:
- A 2005 Cadillac CTS was traveling east on GA 6 in the right lane while a 2015 Lexus GX was traveling west in left lane. The Cadillac began to change lanes from the right lane to the left lane and while doing so, the driver lost control. It began to rotate counter clockwise, crossing the grass median and entering into the westbound lanes of travel. The Lexus struck the right side of Cadillac just behind the right front tire at the a pillar.
- The driver of the Cadillac died as a result of the crash and was identified as Elwyn Clyde Tillery, 75, of Rockmart
- The driver of Lexus was identified as a 39-year-old with an 8-year-old male passenger from Cedartown. Both were transported to Redmond Regional Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries.
- The state patrol continues to investigate the accident.
