Kiwanis Club of Rome welcomes new president Buster Young, Edward Jones Financial Advisor, as he is presented the gavel by outgoing president Diana Sands, Administrative Manager, Profile Custom Extrusions.  Diana received a huge “thank you” for her leadership during the past year.

After a break because of the virus pandemic, Kiwanis members have resumed meeting during the club’s regular meeting schedule of first and third Tuesdays each month, noon-1 p.m., at Sam’s Burger Deli.

Kiwanis members look forward to the new Kiwanis year and continuing support of sponsored Key Clubs at Armuchee, Coosa, Model, Pepperell and Rome High Schools and Builders Club at Rome Middle School.  Through leadership, friendship and service, the Rome Club strives to support theKiwanis mission that Kiwanis empowers communities to improve the world by making lasting differences in the lives of childrenand with the Kiwanis vision that Kiwanis will be a positive influence in communities worldwide — so that one day, all children will wake up in communities that believe in them, nurture them and provide the support they need to thrive.


Beginning Nov.  2 at 8:30 a.m., Tallatoona will begin accepting appointments for the LIHEAP Heating Assistance Program for senior households 65 and older.
Beginning Dec. 1, at 8:30 am, the general public may begin scheduling appointments.

Appointments are provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. To receive assistance, applicants must qualify based on the FY 2021 annual income guidelines. For more information visit www.tallatoonacap.org or call: 770-817-4666, Option 2 or 770-773-7730, Option 2 (toll free for 706 area codes).

Tallatoona services Bartow, Cobb, Douglas, Floyd, Gordon, Haralson, Paulding, and Polk counties. Because of health and safety concerns related to COVID-19, all Tallatoona offices are closed to the public. Appointments will be completed remotely by telephone. All required documents will be accepted via fax, mail, or quick drop off at local county offices. Please do not send documents prior to your appointment.
